While on an exploratory trip to Australia's South-West, I stumbled upon the Warren River National Park. Following its namesake, steep rolling hills of native Karri trees envelop a lush, densely forested river corridor.
Upon reaching the river, I was transfixed by an old tree that had succumbed to the current's pull. Its only sign of existence was a lone branch, reaching out from the water. It was as if, in its last breath, one final surge of strength was put forth so as to be remembered by the world.
In the same way, the leaf floating before the tree screams its colour as a defiance of the reality of which it has befallen.
