Like many places in Australia, the Stirling Ranges are no stranger to fire. Over the last few years though, a large majority of the park has been decimated by out of control bushfires that have raged over the summer months. Thankfully, many Australian plants have evolved with fire being a constant companion over tens of thousands of years.
This image though is a reminder of a warming climate and unseasonal fires that burn too hot, destroying even the most adapted plantlife. All the while demonstrating that life finds a way.
