Karijini is a magical place. It was by pure chance that my trip happened to coincide with a full moon and the evening before this shot was taken, I had seen the moon come up and instantly recognised the opportunity to capture this shot. Imagine my delight having set up my tripod in anticipation as the moon rise through the middle of these two hills directly over Dales gorge! I love the blend of detail and blurr in this image as you feel the warm wind blowing across your skin and your eyes feast on the details of the river flowing through the gorge, the texture and warmth of the gorge walls, and the shimmer of the moons light passing through dust haze in the atmosphere.
